Ecclesiastes 9:10-12 - Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.
Have you taken any chances in 2010 with the concluding thought that there’s a chance it may work and there’s a chance it may not? If you fail to take a chance, you may find yourself regretfully saying, “I wish I would have…” or “I wish I did…” Why lose time in looking back on yesterday, when you have the opportunity to do it now. Life is about chances. The word chance is defined as the absence of any cause of events that can be predicted, understood or controlled. Unless you are willing to take the chance now, you will never walk in the when. What are you believing God for? If it has not occurred yet, don’t stop believing. Often, things are presented in one’s life that creates a tendency for the individual to look at the present state and not trust God for the final outcome. God is faithful and He can give you the peace you need to wait in your now. The now may not be the time, but the when is the confirmation it’s going to come. Remember, time and chance happeneth to them all. Therefore, if not walk by faith now – when? If not trust God now – when? Please understand that all things God puts with us is always bigger than us. The bigger it is, the better it is for you and I to obtain it. In other words, when the giant you face is bigger than you, that’s when God becomes bigger in you! You may be saying to your self, but you don’t understand – I have a stronghold or lack in my life. God is greater than your stronghold and your lack. Don’t give up. If you give up in the now, you will never make it to your when. God may not come when you want Him to but He’s always on time. Wait on Him. The word wait means to serve and endure until the time or change comes. Have you ever waited for something and kept waiting? As little kids, we can all recall going to our parents to ask if we could play outside or go to a friend’s house? Their common response was not now. Our favorite comeback was, when? It was always in the appointed time that they answered us. If we could then question our parents in the natural and await a response, how much more should we go to God and ask Him if not now and wait for the when? God won’t get offended if you ask Him. You have not because you ask not. Though you ask, He will never give you something before its appointed time. God is about time. In your waiting, patience is developed as you continue to believe that things will work in your favor. If you can go through the process and come out of it as pure gold you can appreciate the “when.” If you never go through something and never endure something, you will never know what it’s like to appreciate the “when.” I would like to leave with you 4 questions of reasoning. Why not now? If not now, when? What can prohibit me from doing it now? Is this God’s plan for me to do it now? Do you have a vision? Are you impregnated with a dream? Trust God to endure in the now so you may walk in your when.
